Space Station Freedom (proposed)

Space Station Freedom was a planned NASA project in the 1980s aimed at creating a large orbital laboratory for research and international cooperation. It was designed to orbit Earth, providing a platform for scientific experiments in microgravity, technology development, and potential exploration missions. The station was envisioned to be modular, expandable, and sustainable, involving contributions from multiple countries. Although the project was eventually canceled and evolved into the International Space Station, Space Station Freedom laid important groundwork for international collaboration and scientific research in low Earth orbit.
