Space Shuttle Challenger

The Space Shuttle Challenger was a NASA spacecraft designed to carry astronauts and cargo into space. It was part of the Space Shuttle program, which aimed to make space travel more routine. Challenger had a reusable orbiter with wings, a rocket booster system, and a main fuel tank. Tragically, during its 10th flight in January 1986, the shuttle disintegrated shortly after launch due to a failure in an O-ring seal on one of the solid rocket boosters, leading to the deaths of all seven crew members. The disaster prompted major changes in NASA's safety procedures and engineering.
