It’s designed to carry crew members and cargo to low Earth orbit, including space stations like the International Space Station. Atlantis features an orbiter with wings for re-entry, a large cargo bay for equipment, and rocket boosters for lift-off. Its reusable design allowed multiple missions, making it a key tool in space exploration, satellite deployment, and station assembly. After its final mission, Atlantis was turned into a museum exhibit near Kennedy Space Center in Florida, serving to educate the public about space travel.
