space and sound

Space is the vast, mostly empty region beyond Earth's atmosphere, containing stars, planets, and other celestial bodies. Since space lacks a medium like air or water, sound cannot travel through it. Sound requires molecules to carry vibrations; without a medium, there’s nothing to transmit these vibrations, so we cannot hear sounds in the vacuum of space. Instead, space is silent, but we can detect phenomena through other signals like light and radio waves, which can travel across the vacuum and be interpreted to understand cosmic events.
