Spaak Report

The Spaak Report, published in 1956, was a proposal by Belgian politician Paul-Henri Spaak outlining steps to foster economic integration among European countries. Its goal was to create closer cooperation to prevent future conflicts and promote prosperity by reducing trade barriers and coordinating policies. The report suggested establishing mechanisms for economic collaboration, which laid the groundwork for the creation of key institutions like the European Economic Community (EEC). Essentially, it was an influential blueprint guiding the integration process that eventually led to today’s unified European markets.
