Sovereign citizen movement

The sovereign citizen movement is a loosely organized group of individuals who believe that they are not subject to government laws and authority, often claiming they can opt out of legal and financial obligations through various pseudo-legal arguments. They often cite misinterpretations of law or history, asserting they are connected to a so-called "sovereign" or free person status. Law enforcement and courts view these beliefs as unfounded and problematic, and members sometimes use these ideas to resist taxes, traffic laws, or court rulings.
