Southeast Marine Mammal Stranding Network

The Southeast Marine Mammal Stranding Network is a coordinated organization that monitors and responds to marine mammals, such as whales, dolphins, and seals, that wash ashore or are found distressed along the southeastern U.S. coast. Its mission is to assess, rescue, and rehabilitate stranded animals, collect important data for research, and promote understanding and conservation of marine mammal populations. By working with government agencies, scientists, and volunteers, the network helps ensure the health and safety of marine mammals and their habitats.
