South Slavs

South Slavs are a group of people living mainly in the Balkan Peninsula who speak South Slavic languages, a branch of the Slavic language family. They include countries like Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Bulgaria. Historically, they share cultural roots and have complex histories of kingdoms, empires, and modern nation-states. Despite differences, they often have common traditions, religious influences, and linguistic similarities. The South Slavs have contributed significantly to the region's rich cultural diversity and have experienced periods of unity and conflict over centuries.
