sound frequency

Sound frequency refers to the number of sound wave vibrations that occur in one second, measured in hertz (Hz). It determines the pitch of the sound we hear: higher frequencies produce higher pitches, like a whistle or a piccolo, while lower frequencies produce lower pitches, like a drum or bass note. Our ears interpret these vibrations as different sounds, with the brain analyzing the rate of these waves to identify pitch. Frequency doesn't affect loudness, which is related to the wave’s amplitude; it specifically relates to how high or low a sound seems to us.
