SOTA (Summits on the Air)

Summits on the Air (SOTA) is a global amateur radio activity where enthusiasts activate mountain or hilltops by setting up radio stations from these locations. Participants aim to make radio contacts with others worldwide, encouraging outdoor adventure and radio communication skills. Activators hike or climb to designated summits, while chasers connect with them from elsewhere. The activity promotes physical activity, the use of portable radio gear, and international camaraderie, all within an organized framework that includes scoring and recognition based on the number and difficulty of summits completed.
