Sorensen's index

Sorensen's index is a way to measure how similar two groups are in terms of their members. It compares the number of species or items they share to the total number they have. The value ranges from 0 (no common members) to 1 (identical groups). For example, if two forests have many of the same plants, Sorensen's index will be high, indicating they are quite similar. It helps ecologists and researchers understand how closely related or similar different communities or datasets are based on their shared components.
