Sorafenib

Sorafenib is a targeted cancer medication used primarily to treat advanced liver, kidney, and thyroid cancers. It works by blocking specific proteins and enzymes that help tumors grow and create new blood vessels (angiogenesis), effectively starving the cancer cells of nutrients and oxygen. This inhibition slows tumor growth and can reduce tumor size. Sorafenib is taken orally as a tablet and is often prescribed when the cancer is advanced or has spread. While it can improve survival, it may also cause side effects like fatigue, skin reactions, or high blood pressure, so its use requires careful medical supervision.
