Sonohysterography
Sonohysterography, also known as saline infusion sonogram, is a specialized ultrasound procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus. A small amount of sterile saline (saltwater) is gently inserted into the uterine cavity through a thin tube, which helps expand the space. During the ultrasound, high-frequency sound waves create images of the uterine walls and lining, allowing doctors to identify abnormalities such as polyps, fibroids, or scar tissue. The procedure is minimally invasive, safe, and provides detailed information essential for diagnosis and treatment planning.
