Somozas

Somozas refers to the political era associated with the Somoza family in Nicaragua, spanning from 1936 to 1979. The family, particularly Anastasio Somoza GarcĂa and later his sons Anastasio "Tacho" Somoza Debayle and Luis Somoza Debayle, held dictatorial control over the country. Their rule was marked by authoritarian governance, corruption, and favoritism towards their allies, often suppressing opposition. Despite economic development at times, their leadership ultimately led to widespread dissatisfaction, social inequality, and unrest, culminating in the Nicaraguan Revolution that overthrew the regime.
