Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT)
Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT) is a cloning technique where the nucleus, which contains an organism’s genetic material, is taken from a somatic cell (a body cell like skin or muscle) and inserted into an egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed. The egg is then stimulated to develop as if it were fertilized, creating an embryo that's genetically identical to the donor organism. This method is used in research, agriculture, and holds potential for regenerative medicine by producing cells or tissues identical to a specific individual.
