Solutrean theory
The Solutrean theory suggests that people from the Solutrean culture in southwestern Europe, around 20,000 years ago, helped populate North America during the last Ice Age. It proposes that these specialized hunters and toolmakers traveled along the icy Atlantic ice sheets, crossing the Atlantic Ocean in boats or on ice, and were among the earliest Europeans in the New World. This theory is debated among scientists because it challenges the more widely accepted idea that Native Americans migrated from Asia via an land bridge. While intriguing, the theory's evidence is still under study and discussion.
