Solutrean hypothesis
The Solutrean hypothesis suggests that people from Ice Age Europe, known as the Solutrean culture, may have been among the first to reach North America around 20,000 years ago. It proposes that they traveled along the Atlantic ice sheets using primitive boats or skis, potentially explaining similarities in stone tools found in Europe and early North American sites. While this idea challenges traditional migration theories from Asia, it remains debated among scientists, with ongoing research exploring whether these cultural connections indicate contact or independent development.
