Solstices

Solstices are two points in the year when the Sun reaches its highest or lowest position relative to the equator, marking the longest and shortest days. The June solstice occurs around June 21, when the North Hemisphere tilts most toward the Sun, resulting in the longest day of the year. The December solstice, around December 21, happens when the North Hemisphere tilts away from the Sun, leading to the shortest day. These events are caused by Earth's axial tilt and orbit around the Sun, creating seasonal differences in daylight and temperature.
