Solidarity (South Africa)

Solidarity is a South African labor union and advocacy organization that supports workers and promotes social justice. It was established in 2001 to represent platinum mine workers and other employees, focusing on fair wages, workers’ rights, and improving working conditions. Solidarity also works on education and community development issues, aiming to empower individuals and communities through advocacy and support. It functions as a collective voice, negotiating with employers and government to ensure fair treatment, and promotes values of dignity, equality, and economic justice within South Africa's diverse and dynamic society.
