Solar UV radiation

Solar UV radiation is a form of energy emitted by the Sun, consisting of ultraviolet light that reaches Earth’s atmosphere. It is categorized into three types based on wavelength: UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVA penetrates deeply and affects skin aging; UVB influences sunburn and skin cancer risk; UVC is mostly absorbed by the atmosphere and doesn’t reach us. While UV radiation plays a role in vitamin D production, overexposure can damage skin and eyes, increase aging, and raise cancer risk. Protecting yourself with sunscreen, clothing, and sunglasses helps minimize these risks while enjoying outdoor activities.
