Solar Nebula Theory
The Solar Nebula Theory explains how the Sun and planets formed from a massive cloud of gas and dust in space. About 4.6 billion years ago, this cloud contracted under gravity, spinning into a rotating disk. Most material gathered at the center to form the Sun, while particles in the surrounding disk collided and stuck together, gradually building up planets, moons, and other objects. Over time, this process created our solar system, with the Sun at its core and planets orbiting around it. This theory is supported by observations of similar structures around young stars elsewhere in the universe.
