Solar Eclipse Series

Solar eclipse series refer to the cycle of eclipses that repeat over time, driven by the alignments of the Moon, Earth, and Sun. The most well-known cycle is the Saros cycle, lasting about 18 years, 11 days. After one Saros period, similar eclipses occur with comparable geometry, location, and characteristics. These series help astronomers predict when and where future solar eclipses will happen. Each series begins with a series of partial eclipses, transitions through total eclipses, and eventually ends with partial eclipses again, tracing a predictable pattern over decades or centuries.
