Sojourner Rover
The Sojourner rover was a small, autonomous robot designed by NASA to explore Mars. Launched in 1996 as part of the Mars Pathfinder mission, it traveled across the Martian surface using remote controls and had cameras and scientific instruments to analyze rocks, soil, and the environment. Its goal was to demonstrate the feasibility of robotic exploration and gather data to prepare for future missions. Despite its small size, Sojourner provided valuable insights about Mars, showing that robotic rovers could operate effectively on distant planetary surfaces.
