Socs
The Socs, short for "Socials" or "Socials Gang," are a group of wealthier, more privileged teenagers in S.E. Hinton’s novel *The Outsiders*. They come from upper-class families, often associated with material possessions and social status. The Socs tend to look down on the Greasers, a lower-class group characterized by a rougher lifestyle. Their rivalry and conflicts highlight themes of class division, identity, and social inequality. While they are often portrayed as the antagonists, they also represent the broader societal pressures faced by young people based on their socioeconomic background.
