Society of Saint-Simon

The Society of Saint-Simon was a 19th-century philosophical and social movement founded by Claude Henri de Rouvroy, Comte de Saint-Simon. It promoted the idea that society should be organized based on merit, scientific progress, and cooperation between different classes, especially workers and industrialists. They believed that industry and technology could improve social conditions and that leadership should come from talented and committed individuals rather than inherited privilege. The society aimed to create a more rational and equitable society through social reform and planning, influencing later ideas about socialism and progressive social change.
