Society of Nations
The Society of Nations, more commonly known as the League of Nations, was an international organization established after World War I in 1920. Its primary goal was to promote peace and prevent future conflicts by providing a forum for countries to discuss disputes diplomatically and coordinate efforts on issues like health, transportation, and disarmament. Despite its efforts, it struggled with enforcement and lacked participation from major powers, notably the United States. The League ultimately dissolved in 1946, replaced by the United Nations, which aimed to build a more effective international community for maintaining global peace and security.
