Society for Creative Anachronism
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an organization dedicated to researching, recreating, and celebrating the arts, crafts, combat, and culture of pre-17th-century history, primarily through reenactment and educational activities. Members, called "ancients," dress in period costumes, participate in medieval-style tournaments, and host events such as feasts and historical demonstrations. The SCA promotes learning about history through hands-on experience and community engagement, fostering a sense of camaraderie and appreciation for medieval and Renaissance eras. It serves as a living history organization that combines scholarship with entertainment.
