Social Revolutionaries

The Socialist Revolutionaries, or SRs, were a political movement in early 20th-century Russia advocating for agrarian socialism. They aimed to overthrow the Tsarist regime and establish a government that prioritized land redistribution, empowering peasants and farmers. They believed in revolutionary action through grassroots efforts, including activism and sometimes violence, to achieve social and land reforms. The SRs were influential during the Russian Revolution, representing rural and peasant interests, and played a key role in shaping early Soviet history before being overshadowed by other political groups.
