Social intuitionism

Social intuitionism is a theory suggesting that our moral judgments are primarily driven by automatic, emotional reactions rather than deliberate reasoning. According to this view, we quickly form moral opinions based on intuition—our gut feelings or subconscious evaluations—often influenced by social and cultural contexts. Afterward, we might justify these feelings with rational explanations, but reasoning mainly serves to support our initial intuition rather than generate it. This perspective emphasizes the power of feelings and social influences in shaping our moral decisions more than conscious logical analysis.
