Social-Ecological Systems Framework
The Social-Ecological Systems (SES) Framework is a way to understand how humans and the environment interact and depend on each other. It considers different parts like natural resources, communities, policies, and economic factors, seeing them as interconnected and influencing one another. This approach helps us analyze complex sustainability issues—such as managing fisheries or forests—by recognizing that actions in one area affect others, and solutions require coordinated efforts across social, economic, and ecological systems. It promotes a holistic view to better manage resources and address environmental challenges sustainably.
