Social climbing

Social climbing refers to the efforts someone makes to improve their social status or influence by forming relationships with people who are seen as more socially prominent or influential. It often involves engaging in activities, associations, or behaviors aimed at gaining approval, recognition, or higher social standing within a community or society. The motivation is usually to access better opportunities, resources, or prestige. While social mobility is natural, social climbing can sometimes be viewed as strategic or driven by a desire for acceptance and success.
