Snowy Owl

The snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus) is a large, striking bird native to the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. Known for its white plumage, which provides excellent camouflage in snowy environments, it has piercing yellow eyes and a robust build. Snowy owls are primarily diurnal, hunting during the day for small mammals like lemmings, which are their main food source. During winter, they can be found farther south in North America and Eurasia. Adapted to cold climates, they have thick feathers for insulation and powerful talons for catching prey. They are a symbol of the Arctic wilderness and are admired for their beauty and hunting prowess.
