SNO+

SNO+ is an advanced scientific experiment located deep underground in the Modane Underground Laboratory in France. It aims to study tiny particles called neutrinos, which are incredibly hard to detect but hold clues about the universe and the nature of matter. SNO+ uses a large tank filled with liquid scintillator to observe rare nuclear reactions, including the possibility of detecting neutrinoless double-beta decay—a process that could reveal if neutrinos are their own antiparticles. The research helps scientists understand fundamental physics, the origins of matter, and the overall structure of the universe.
