Sniffing attack
A sniffing attack is when a person secretly intercepts and listens to data being transmitted over a network. Imagine someone using a small device to eavesdrop on your conversations without your knowledge, capturing sensitive information like passwords or personal details as they travel between computers or devices. This often happens on insecure or poorly protected networks, such as public Wi-Fi, where data isn't fully encrypted. The attacker essentially "sniffs" the data packets in transit, making it possible to gather private information without authorization. Proper encryption and security measures help prevent such attacks.
