SNAT (Source Network Address Translation)

Source Network Address Translation (SNAT) is a technique used in networking where an outgoing device's IP address is replaced with a different, shared IP address. This allows multiple devices within a private network to access the internet using a single public IP address. SNAT keeps track of which internal device made each request, so responses are correctly routed back. It enhances security, conserves public IP addresses, and simplifies network management by presenting internal devices as a single entity to the online world.
