Snakes
Snakes are elongated, legless reptiles belonging to the suborder Serpentes. They have flexible bodies covered with scales, enabling smooth movement across various surfaces. Snakes are found worldwide, except in Antarctica, and occupy diverse habitats. They are carnivorous, primarily feeding on small animals like rodents, insects, and birds, using a combination of keen senses, stealth, and in some species, venom to subdue prey. Snakes play important roles in ecosystems by controlling pest populations. Despite common fears, most snakes are non-aggressive toward humans and help maintain ecological balance.
