SMS Derfflinger
SMS Derfflinger was a German battlecruiser built during World War I, named after Count Friedrich von der Derfflinger, a Prussian general. As a warship, it combined large guns, speed, and armor to engage enemy ships effectively. It served in the Imperial Navy, notably participating in the Battle of Jutland in 1916, the largest naval battle of the war. The Derfflinger was designed to outgun and outfight enemy fleets, playing a key role in Germany's naval strategy. After the war, it was decommissioned and eventually scrapped, reflecting the shift away from battleship dominance.
