Smalcald Articles

The Smalcald Articles are a set of theological statements created by Martin Luther in 1537, aiming to clarify key Protestant beliefs during the Reformation. They outline issues like salvation through faith alone, the authority of scripture, and criticism of certain church practices. Intended as a summary for discussing reform with other groups, they emphasize that salvation is a gift from God, not earned by works, and stress reliance on scripture over church traditions.
