Slovak koruna
The Slovak koruna was the official currency of Slovakia until 2009, when Slovakia adopted the euro. The koruna, abbreviated as SKK, was divided into 100 smaller units called haléřov (singular: haléř). It was used to facilitate transactions and represent the value of goods and services within Slovakia. The currency featured various Slovak symbols and images, reflecting national heritage and history. Transitioning to the euro aimed to integrate Slovakia more closely with the European Union, simplifying cross-border trade and travel. The koruna played a central role in Slovakia’s economy for several decades prior to the switch.
