slopes

A slope describes how a line on a graph rises or falls as you move along it. It measures how much the vertical change (height) is compared to the horizontal change (distance). If a line goes up as you move right, it has a positive slope; if it goes down, it has a negative slope. A steeper slope means a bigger change in height over a given distance, while a gentle slope means a smaller change. Slopes help us understand relationships between variables, such as speed in a car or growth over time in a graph.
