SLN

SLN, or Sentinel Lymph Node, is the first lymph node(s) to which cancer cells are most likely to spread from a primary tumor. In medical procedures, identifying these nodes helps determine whether cancer has started to spread beyond the original site. During a procedure known as a sentinel lymph node biopsy, doctors locate and remove these specific nodes to check for cancer cells, which can guide treatment decisions and reduce the need for more extensive surgery. Essentially, SLN acts as an early indicator, providing valuable information about the potential spread of cancer.
