Slide-seq

Slide-seq is a technique used by scientists to study gene activity within tiny regions of tissue, like brain or tumor samples. It works by placing a tissue slice onto a surface covered with numerous tiny barcoded beads. When the tissue is processed, messenger RNA (which reflects gene activity) from each part of the tissue binds to nearby beads. By analyzing the barcodes and gene signals, researchers can create detailed maps showing which genes are active in specific spots within the tissue, helping to understand the complex organization and functions of different cell types.
