Sleep Safety
Sleep safety involves creating a healthy sleep environment to reduce risks of harm or sleep-related issues. This includes placing the baby on their back to sleep, using a firm mattress with a fitted sheet, avoiding soft bedding or pillows, and keeping the sleep area free of objects that could cause suffocation. It’s also important to keep the sleep space at a comfortable temperature and avoid overheating. For infants, sharing a room but not a bed is recommended. For adults, minimizing substances that impair judgment and avoiding alcohol before sleep helps ensure a safe and restful night.
