Slavic Letters

Slavic letters refer to the specialized alphabetic scripts used to write Slavic languages, primarily the Cyrillic alphabet and historically Glagolitic. The Cyrillic script, developed in the 9th century by Saints Cyril and Methodius, is now used by many Slavic nations like Russia, Bulgaria, and Serbia. Glagolitic, older and more complex, was created earlier and was used mainly by the Croats. These alphabets transformed Slavic cultures by enabling the spread of literacy, religious texts, and cultural identity. Today, Cyrillic remains a vital part of Slavic linguistic heritage, serving as a written foundation for several national languages.
