Slander
Slander is a form of defamation involving spoken statements that damage a person's reputation. For it to be considered slander, the statement must be false, communicated to others, and result in harm to the person's reputation or standing. It is different from libel, which involves written or published false statements. Slander can affect personal relationships, employment, and social standing. To succeed in a slander claim, the person claiming harm generally must prove that the statement was false, made with negligence or malicious intent, and caused measurable damage.
