Skintillator

A scintillator is a material that emits light when it absorbs other types of energy, such as particles or radiation. When a high-energy particle, like a gamma ray or a cosmic ray, hits the scintillator, it excites the atoms within the material, causing them to release photons (tiny light particles). This emitted light can then be detected and measured, helping scientists identify and analyze the incoming radiation. Scintillators are widely used in medical imaging, radiation detection, and scientific research because they efficiently convert invisible radiation into visible light signals for analysis.
