Skin Graft

A skin graft is a medical procedure where healthy skin is taken from one part of the body (or from a donor) and transplanted to a wounded or damaged area to promote healing. It’s commonly used for large burns, wounds, or skin loss. The graft helps protect the underlying tissue, reduce infection risk, and improve appearance. The skin used may be a thin layer called a sheet or processed into a mesh to cover larger areas. Successful grafts integrate into the new site, providing durable, functional skin as the area heals.
