Skin Fungal Infections

Skin fungal infections occur when fungi, microscopic organisms found in damp environments, grow on the skin. Common types include athlete’s foot, ringworm, and yeast infections. These infections often cause symptoms like redness, itching, flaky or cracked skin, and sometimes, a rash or blisters. They thrive in warm, moist areas such as between toes, underarms, or groin. Fungal infections are contagious and can spread through skin contact or shared items like towels. They are usually treatable with antifungal medications, and maintaining good hygiene and keeping skin dry can help prevent them.
