Skeletal muscle fibers
Skeletal muscle fibers are the individual cells that make up muscles responsible for movement. These long, cylindrical cells contain many nuclei and are packed with tiny structures called myofibrils, which enable muscles to contract. Each fiber is wrapped in connective tissue and powered by the nervous system, allowing voluntary movements like walking, lifting, or typing. They can be categorized based on their speed and endurance: some contract quickly and tire easily, while others are slower but more resistant to fatigue. Together, these fibers work in harmony to produce precise and powerful movements.
