Skanderbeg, born Gjergj Kastrioti in 1405, was an Albanian nobleman and military leader recognized for his resistance against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. He is celebrated as a national hero in Albania for uniting various Albanian factions and leading a successful rebellion that lasted over two decades. Skanderbeg's strategic skills and guerilla tactics earned him a reputation throughout Europe, and he became a symbol of resistance against oppression. His legacy is not just in military achievements but also in promoting Albanian identity and independence. He died in 1468, but remains a significant figure in Albanian history.
